How It Works

A clear process from first idea to launch.

Each project is evaluated before development begins so that the technical approach, responsibilities, and ongoing costs are clear.

01

Scope and project review

Every project starts with a short review of the goal, required features, platforms, timeline, and expected operating costs. For larger projects, this may include hosting, user accounts, payments, databases, external services, AI features, or app-store requirements. A project begins only after the scope, technical feasibility, timeline, and costs have been reviewed.

02

Domain, hosting, and accounts

For websites, the domain is normally registered in the client’s name and under the client’s email address. PortanX can assist with selecting, purchasing, configuring, and connecting the domain when required. The technical setup may include a registrar such as Namecheap, DNS and security through Cloudflare, and hosting through Vercel, Cloudflare, or another suitable provider.

03

Website development

The website is planned, designed, developed, tested, and published based on the agreed scope. This may include company presentation pages, restaurant content, menus, image galleries, portfolios, exhibition pages, contact forms, bookings, personal websites, travel content, recipe features, or custom sections.

04

Web applications and AI features

Web applications may require a server, database, authentication, storage, external APIs, payment providers, or AI services. When AI is used, the provider, usage limits, security measures, expected operating costs, and billing responsibilities are reviewed before implementation. Private credentials are stored securely as server-side environment variables and are never exposed publicly in website code.

05

Native application development

Applications can be developed for iOS, macOS, Android, Windows, and the web. The distribution method, required accounts, signing, updates, and store requirements are discussed before development starts. For client-owned apps, the preferred approach is for the client to own the relevant Apple, Google Play, Microsoft, or other distribution account and grant PortanX the required development access.

06

Launch, access, and support

Before launch, the project is tested against the agreed scope. After launch, the client receives access to the agreed accounts, services, and project materials. Ongoing support for updates, technical maintenance, content administration, monitoring, and future improvements can be arranged separately when appropriate.
